| As a member of the management, let me convey our deepest apologies that we seem to have fallen behind in the meta. We know it is lifeblood to some and they can't do without it and gosh if I have to, I will do them all myself just to keep up with you awesome peeps :D ( Meta 4x07 Strange Attractors ) | |

| Is it just me, or does anyone else hate looking at an icon post that says "link here for icons" and it turns out to be a link to a post that's actually a link to a zip file? Dammit, people, I don't want all your icons, I wanted one. Just one! Not that I have the ability to upload anything right now anyway.Okay, so G asked what my HP ships were. You guys, you know me. It's Draco/Hermione OTP and no doubt about that. However, if the piece is good, I'll read anything. No, really. I even just read a Draco/Snape today and you know I hate Snape. (Actually, lemme rec this to you peeps. I didn't actually like it, because A. Snape, B. bottom!Draco, but it was very well written and I encourage folks to take a look at it if that's your thing. 's by entrenous88. Clean and Filthy. Again, Draco/Snape, with some cross-dressing on Draco's part. *shoos* Go read.) Where was I. Right, ships. Seriously, if the piece is well-done, even if I don't end up caring for it myself, I'll read anything. I prefer: Draco/Hermione Draco/Pansy Astoria/Draco BUT NOT ASTERIA I HAVE HAD THIS RANT BEFORE Umm. Draco/Lucius and Bella/Draco are my pet 'cesty ships. No Narcissa, though. I say this with utmost sincerity, considering some of the things I like, but I find that pairing weird. You may notice a definite Draco-oriented theme there. He's my favorite character, so that's no surprise. I can be convinced to read a Draco/Luna from time to time, but never a Draco/Ginny. That is right out. Outside of that, I prefer Rose/Scorpius, Lucius/Narcissa, Arthur/Molly, Bill/Fleur (the only Weasley pairings I'll voluntarily read, usually), Hannah/Neville, Remus/Sirius (INORITE, A SLASH PAIRING, everyone may have a heart attack now, shush.), and uh. Aberforth/goat. Um. Hmmm. Maybe that's it for ones that I prefer. But again, if it's good, I'll read it. The only things I refuse to read based on pairing principle generally involve Weasleys and even then I've been known to give 'em a read. Which you will see if/when I do a rec round-up for the week here in a day or so. :D | |

Do you ever feel like, maybe you're not being a good friend? I do!
I mean, people on my friends list know that I totally disappear for weeks at a time. I get all tangled up in life, and even if LiveJournal is 100% part of that life (and fills my heart up like you wouldn't believe!!) sometimes it gets caught under the wheels.
And I miss it, for real! I mean, I used to do Birthdays Hugs for every single person on my f-list, but I haven't done one in forever. -__-
Truthfully, my copy of Photoshop got swallowed by a reinstall and I feel bad reusing Birthday Hugs. And though I do have access to Photoshop, it's not very often...and I tried learning GIMP and totally failed. ><; It's just different than what I'm used to and I am MADE OF FAIL.
Plus I've heard people saying they don't like seeing birthday posts.
But I also feel bad not doing anything at all.
A-and, really? It's not that I feel so *bad*. More like that I'm bursting so much with love for you people that it needs to go somewheres, and that somewheres is toward your birthday! I mean. Zounds! You let me into your life, in some way That's just plain awesome, and you deserve good wishes on the day you were born!
So. I think I'm gonna do a once a year thing. Like my hug posts, but with something guaranteed for everybody on my friends list. Maybe in January sometime? I think that'd make sense...and it wouldn't be so spammy! New year, right? :3
...But I dunno! What do you think? - Mood:contemplative

| Shameless? Shameless is not in my vocabulary! So basically, it’s been many moons since I did a collaboration with someone, and collaborations are fun, so I’d like to get back into that. I think I’ve outlined all the necessary information below, so if you’d be potentially interested, take a look? | I've been watching this community for a long time and wanted to join in on the awesomeness, so here I am! And with that, I have some bad news: It looks like Eastwick has been officially canceled. It's really too bad, I was starting to enjoy it. Seeing Darren every week was also a plus. Sending my love to Darren and the rest of the cast! Bigger and better things to come. | |

| I am snorting with laughter at how many Dramione people have signed up for the dracobigbang so far. When I saw that one of the mods was a Drarry person, I nearly considered giving up on the idea because I was certain it would be completely over-run with poorly written bottom!Draco rentboy fics. So far I'm wrong. AHAHAHA. So. *fetches popcorn* There are things I can overlook in a fic and things I can't, and a lot of times, that boils down to word usage. I am, at heart, a red-penner. I can't help it. I must correct things. Typos, POV switches, grammar mistakes. There are things that I learn to ignore - their/they're/there switches, much like your/you're and to/too/two, can be ignored if it's clearly a typo. If it's obvious throughout the fic that the author has no concept they're different words, it's the backbutton for me. Alright and alot give me the absolute bone-grinding shudders. Lose and loose are PRONOUNCED DIFFERENTLY HOW DO YOU FUCK THIS UP. But the one that makes me batshit insane is 'dominate'. No. Look. Morons. If you're going to make an attempt at writing a fic with some kink in it, here's a ground rule. You might even call it a hard fucking limit. Dominate is a verb. Draco dominates. Dominant is a noun. Draco is a dominant. Dominant is also an adjective. Draco has a dominant streak. DRACO IS NEVER A DOMINATE.I swear to god, keep doing that, and I will withhold the floggings until vocabularies improve. | |

| Sorry for the late Eastwick discussion post and news update (I was running around all last week for my job, blah, blah, blah, excuses, excuses). How do you feel about Eastwick without Chad? November 5: @ ajholmesmusic Playing "Divided Sky" at buffalo wild wings with @ msalicenutting Yes. Yes. November 6: @ FunkWalk i just came |-----------------| close to accidentally brushing my teeth with lube. (Modnote: Just thought that was too funny not to share with non-Twitterites!) November 7: @ DarrenCriss Just got a call- looks like I'm playing some music tonight at Maggiano's in the Grove, 6pm-10ish... Then I'm hittin the town! @ DarrenCriss as much as I appreciate ppl coming to hear some tunes, you should know it's a $$$ restaurant, not a music venue! I'm only background noise! November 9: @ TeamStarKid What will you be doing one week from now? Watching Me and My Dick. I have been trying to find the time to streamline and customize the community, which has been rather difficult lately. Just so you know what's in the works:
- Shiny new header - it's currently being worked on by someone who also has been trying to find time; no rush, I'm confident it'll be amazing when finished
- Updated layout - to match the shiny header when it's done
- List of tags in the sidebar (finally!) - this should be finished this weekend, I promise
- Community icon - kind of silly, but I've been meaning to make one for a long time; also should be done this weekend
And while I'm here, the (B)romance Fanvid Challenge. Links to download the musical are in this comment to make it easier for people wanting to make fanvids. However, the videos currently on YouTube are of higher quality.

| Sign up begins today for the next reading and will continue through Monday, November 16. We will be reading Part 2, Chapter 1, Many Meetings, and a part of Chapter 2, The Council of Elrond. How far we go with The Council of Elrond will depend on how many people sign up to read. My thought is to read a third of that chapter this time, and read the remainder of the chapter next time. We'll see how it goes. It's a looong chapter. :)
Chapter 1 contains one long poem (Bilbo's poem about Earendil) and some Elvish. If you are game to tackle either of those, please let me know. :)
I am also going to try an experiment. :) As we go through the story, there are certain scenes that I imagine a number of us would like to read, such as the scene in Many Meetings where Sam comes in and takes Frodo's hand. So, if you would like to read that part of the chapter, please indicate that when you sign up. I will take the LJ names of all interested parties and literally pull one from a hat! It seems fairest to do it that way, don't you think?
Well, I'm very excited to be starting Book 2! *happy*

MEDIA NEWS:• From TORn: Hobbit Shoot to Begin in Studio? Vic from Red Carpet Tours sends in this litte nugget of information he heard down in New Zeland: “Rumour has it that the first six months of filming in 2010 will take place in the studio.” Truth or rumour? Time will tell!
‘At the Movies’ Poll To Swamp Paul writes: Just thought I would drop a line and let you know that the TV show At the Movies is doing a top ten movies of the decade and they a viewers pole on their website. Lord of the Rings is currently #4 behind Wall-E, There Will be Blood and The Dark Knight. Surely we can do better than that!
New Screens for LOTR: Siege of Mirkwood, Upcoming Digital Expansion Turbine has just released a new batch of screenshots for The Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood, the upcoming digital expansion to the award-winning MMO, which is scheduled to launch on December 1st in North America. The images depict the new Ashenslades region deep in the forests of Mirkwood.
Whoopi Goldberg Confuses Her Wizards From www.mirror.co.uk (who tend to exaggerate every fact): Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen was upset on live TV after he was confused with another movie wizard. The actor – who played Gandalf in the hit films – was on US TV’s The View when host Whoopi Goldberg asked: “Are you coming back in Harry Potter.” Sir Ian, 70, looked clearly annoyed as he closed his eyes and paused. He said: “I don’t play Dumbledore – I play Lord of the Rings.” Embarrassed Whoopi apologised before Sir Ian assured her it was a common mistake. lbilover Inspired by a typo in a comment, wrote this charming, hysterically funny ficlet. The Frodian Slip.
surgicalsteel Talagan deals with a strange injury and learns something of Gilraen's past. Memory. Thanks, Mews! DISCUSSIONS OF INTEREST: • Via The One Ring Forums Forums: Movie Discussion - The Hobbit MTV, Sir Ian says “The Hobbit' draws from other Tolkien sources.” - Perhaps most intriguingly, McKellen said the script doesn't just draw on one of the Middle Earth author's sources. "They have added material to 'The Hobbit' from other Tolkein sources," he said, declining to elaborate further. So for a long time, script details will be kept under lock and key – an interesting stance, McKellen pointed out, since anyone who wants to know about the plot can pick up a copy at the bookstore. "So what are we being so secretive about?" he asked. "It's the way it's told. And the way it's told is very much in keeping with the way 'Lord of the Rings' was told. It's not going to be wildly different in look or style or approach." So, Sir Ian has read the script and from this he has recognizes that the first movie will draw from other Tolkien sources. Makes me wonder what parts of the movie this will be.
Hobbit update: Casting, monsters, costumes! - What exactly is going on with the two-part adaptation of The Hobbit? The world seems to be holding its breath in anticipation, including us, but as the calendar turned to November, we turned to a trusted rock-solid inside source and found a dragon's treasure of updates. Even the most dedicated fans, those tracking the details and trying to fit together the jigsaw puzzle don't have a complete picture. What happened to the scripts Peter Jackson promised were almost finished? How does Ian McKellen have scripts and know about Bilbo's casting if the studio hasn't officially even approved the budget for the film? Is everybody just sitting around counting the days? Where are the official announcements? What does the relative silence mean? Is everything still on schedule? What does the studio think? How the can filming begin in the spring if all this other stuff doesn't get done? CLASSIFIED: • lotrips_finders challenge: Boromir reincarnated - I'm wondering if there are any stories where Boromir reincarnates within Aragorn's lifetime. I prefer Boromir to be oblivious to his situation, but I have never seen such fics, so him knowing is OK. Also to widen the search, I'd like to know if there are fics with children or teens (or just simply younger ones) reminding the others of Boromir. RESEARCH AIDS: The race of Men is the second race of beings created by the One God, Ilúvatar. TRIVIA:Today's BOOK question : What is the name of the first month of the Shire Reckoning corresponding roughly to out January?

| OMG you guys. Um. Yeah. So I was redoing my reading filters since H_E is closing. And I discovered that the last time I made my filters? I skipped about oh, say, ten people or so. So, like. I wasn't ignoring posts or never reading or anything like that. I was just under the impression a lot of people were on hiatus! Bad Musyc.
So hey, if there was something you really wanted an audience for? Point me to it.
And all the rest of you, point me to your favorite comms and journals! What do you like to read, where do you get the info, who has the best fics and arts and wossnames? More things to read is always fun. :DD
